Donna The Buffalo @Jannus Landing

airstudio about almost 6 years ago

What a night it was! Introduced by WMNF's own Deadhead Ed, DTB, always wonderful, hit the stage and got the herd smiling from beginning to end. It was a balmy evening with little room to move, but all present swayed happily while singing along to the easily recognizable tunes (Family Picture, Positive Friction,Tides Of Time,Conscious Evolution) and eagerly aurally absorbing the newest tracks from Donna The Buffalo's latest, SILVERLINED. Jeb & Tara were in great staqe form, though it sounded like Tara may have a little cold. New band members fit in perfectly - David McCracken on keys and Jay Sanders on Bass. There was also a percussionist sitting in. didn't catch his name. There were two sets in all, the second of which contained mostly a hit parade of favorites climaxing with "No Place Like The Right Time" which had everyone singing along at top volume. There were a few incidents in the crowd (you know how beer can get people going!!), but over all very happy, sweaty bunch!!

Donna the Buffalo at Jannus Landing

What an incredible evening - the band was in fine form and agreed the new members are a great fit. The jams were awesome, I don't recall ever seeing such intense, long, driving jams before from them!! Fantastic dancing mood, great crowd as always, although there was a drunken brawl right in front of us (I hate drunks). Love the new song and CD - great sound quality. Can't wait until New Years - going up to Asheville for 2 nights of DtB at the Orange Peel.....oh yea!!
