Free noon concert on September 13th at Ybor City Museum Park with the Ditchflowers

We will kick off a week long schedule of events celebrating our 32nd birthday, on Tuesday September 13th with a free concert and live broadcast from Ybor City Museum Park.The Park is located at 1818 East 9th Avenue; Tampa, FL. 33601 (at the corner of 9th Avenue & 19th Street, in Ybor City. This free WMNF birthday event is done in partnership with the Ybor City Museum Society and the Florida Park Service. The broadcast will be from Noon-3PM with John Palmer hosting WMNF’s It’s The Music. This free WMNF birthday event kicks off at noon with live music featuring the Ditchflowers from St. Petersburg. They have been described as "The scruffy little pop band with artistic leanings" Brian Merrill - Vocal/Guitar/Keys, Ed Woltil - Vocals/Guitar/Keys, Steve Connelly - Guitar/Vocals, Michael Hoag - Bass, Stan Arthur - Drums. Eric Snider in Creative Loafing describes them as "“Exquisite…sweet, timeless pop.” “Melodic guitar-pop in the mold of such benchmarks as The Beatles, Kinks, Bowie, Todd Rundgren, XTC, et al….” This free performance coincides with the release the same day of the Ditchflowers’ new cd “Bird’s Eye.” on Sunshine Drenchy Records.
