Executive Director

I am so happy to see this celebration of International Women's Day. As the programmer who helped coordinate the day at WMNF for the last 12 years, I had hoped to participate this year. Unfortunately I had to cancel my trip, but please know that my heart and wishes will be at WMNF Monday. I will be listening at my computer here in Berkeley. Interestingly, I will be working that day, but the Pacifica Foundation National Office does declare IWD as a holiday for staff!

MNF -programmer

First and foremost let me thank and congratulate Mary Glenney for the extraordinary effort she has put forth already to assure listeners and the communities at large the longtime tradition of celebrating International Women's Day at WMNF. This certainly is not an easy task. At this moment to correct the schedule above let me mention that from 9-11 PM Miss Julie Black , " Angel for Blues" and a few guests from her band/ then following her will be Wendy Barmore with a possible guest percussionist. The "live" session will be held in the large air studio "A." Guests are still invited of course.

Send a message of solidarity

Alot of people don't realise that the majority of people hungry around the world are women... and yet these women produce 60-80% of the food! The answer to hunger, I really believe lies with women. You can also send a message of solidarity to women across the world for International Women’s Day at

Grateful- grateful- grateful for 'MNF and the effort and committment to continue to produce all women programming on International Women's Day! Thanks to the women programmers who did an amazing job!
