WMNF is honored to present The Hort Report, a series of one-minute gardening segments recorded by the late and very much missed horticulturist Greg Charles, aka Dr. Hort.

Dr. Hort was a passionate expert on Native Florida Gardening, and a colorful columnist for the Tampa Bay Times. He and his family are longtime supporters of WMNF, and Dr. Hort gave wonderful guidance to our volunteer Gail Carroll as she renewed WMNF's native landscape to award-winning status. You'll see a lovely young cassia tree on your right, as you're walking toward the station's front door. It's transplanted from Dr. Hort's yard.

WMNF's skilled producer, Ryder Wooten, recorded this series on location at Dr. Hort's home, with natural sound. You can hear this week's episode again on SoundCloud.
