Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society

The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM at The Land Oâ Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land Oâ Lakes Blvd/US 41, Land Oâ Lakes, 34639, between SR 52 and SR 54. Land Oâ Lakes Community Center is located on the west side of the highway. The subject of the Tuesday, August 13, 2013 program is âPollinators to the Rescue: Rescue to the Pollinatorsâ, presented by Dr. Jaret Daniels, author of several books and guides on butterflies and butterfly gardening, Associate Curator of Lepidoptera at the Florida Museum of Natural History, and University of Florida, IFAS Associate Professor of Entomology. An insect ecologist by training, his research currently focuses on imperiled butterfly recovery and native insect pollinator conservation. Meetings of the Chapter are free, and all interested parties are invited to attend, to bring questions about their yard, and participate in light refreshments and the native plant drawing.
