The ADTBJA (Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association) is excited to be a sponsor for the second live jazz concert at WMNF. The Feb. 14 event features musician Patrick Bettison, who is reportedly leaving Tampa Bay soon.
Patrick plays bass, piano, harmonica, percussion and has worked as an arranger with the Florida Orchestra. He’ll be joined in the Mike Eisenstadt Live Music Studio by LaRue Nickelson on guitar, Jeremy Powell on saxophone, Jeremy Douglas on keyboards and Steve Davis on drums.
Patrick and company will play some of his original compositions, including music from his latest CD entitled Walkin’ All Around (available on cdbaby.com).
The WMNF jazz series is performed before a live studio audience at 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month.
The concerts are recorded and replayed on various jazz programs, including Saturday’s Charles Vann Memorial Jazz Party. The Live Music Studio offers an intimate setting for an audience of 25 who get to interact with the band and this month’s emcee, ADTBJA member Kenny Walker.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door; call Miss Julie at (813) 238-8001 during business hours to reserve seats.
