In 2002, Irish filmmakers Kim Bartley and Donnacha O'Briain were in Venezuela to document the day to day life of democratically-elected President Hugo Chavez. On April 11, they witnessed history in the making. In a surprise coup d'etat, the disgruntled privileged class, with the assistance of the military and sympathies of media broadcasters, stormed the presidential palace and attempted to force Chavez's resignation. "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" is an uncritical and non-judgemental look at this historic event - of a nation putting the tools of a constitutional democracy into action.
