WMNF Presents: The 30th Anniversary of Pink Floyd’s The Wall

Doors 7:30pm
Show 8pm to 11:30pm

Because of the holidays, there are no more advance tickets at WMNF. The Largo Cultural Center is selling advance tickets until 6pm Wednesday. There will be about 80 tickets left at the door Friday. Tickets for the spectacular event are $20 at the door

The Wall: Pink Floyd's greatest rock opera and one of progressive rock's finest albums. The conceptual album of conceptual albums, it's known as having some of the most genius lyrics ever written for a rock opera and is one of the greatest artistic achievements in album history.

You can now see it performed in its entirety in a benefit for WMNF with the Vodkanauts commanding all four sides in a one-time-only performance on Friday, November 27th. The night will also include light shows, video backdrops and other electronic elements. It's a night of music and entertainment that music fans, especially Pink Floyd fans, do not want to miss.

To round out the sides and the multitude of vocal and instrumental parts, The Vodkanauts will be enlisting the help of some friends. Here's the full "enhanced" Vodkanauts lineup for the show:

Jonathan Harrison (Vodkanauts) - vocals Brian Merrill (The Ditchflowers) - vocals Heather Harrison - vocals Mich Sullivan - vocals Freight Train Annie (Captain Obvious & The Duh! Patrol) - vocals Ryan Arsenault (Vodkanauts) - keyboards Mark Warren (Vodkanauts) - guitar, vocals Dan LaJoy (The Lake Audition) - guitar John De Bellis (Vodkanauts) - bass Stan Arthur (The Ditchflowers) - drums, vocals

The 30th Anniversary of Pink Floyd's The Wall will be presented in the $3.7 million dollar state-of-the-art concert venue The Largo Cultural Center. In this intimate setting of just 400 seats, with an exceptional sound system and one of the Southeast's best lighting systems, there may be no place more suited for a recreation of this classic rock opera.

The Wall is a rock opera by Pink Floyd. Presented as a 4-sided album it was released on November 30 1979. It was subsequently performed live, with elaborate theatrical effects, and made into a film. Roger Waters developed The Wall, about an emotionally crippled rock star, by constructing the album as a series of fragments that are held together by larger numbers like "Comfortably Numb,” “Another Brick in the Wall” and "Hey You." Generally, the fully developed songs are among the finest of Pink Floyd's later work, but The Wall is a triumph of production: its seamless surface, blending melodic fragments and sound effects. The Wall features a notably harsher and more theatrical style than their previous releases. The album has sold over 30 million copies worldwide, and is the best-selling double album of all time.

Starting off the show will be two bands doing their interpretations of Pink Floyd songs not included on The Wall, including award-winning Americana stalwarts Rebekah Pulley and the Reluctant Prophets and noted '80s tribute act Rubix Cubed.
