8pm - Jim Hightower speaks
8:30pm - first wave of silent auction closes
8:40pm - second wave of silent auction closes
8:45pm - LIVE AUCTION begins
8:50pm - final of silent auction closes

WMNF is presenting an exciting new fundraiser aptly coined The Free Speech Zone and the timing couldn’t be better! The WMNF Development Committee is presenting this lively event---envisioned as a celebration of the right to individual and collective freedom of expression. The Free Speech Zone will take place Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the David A. Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa from 7:00-10:00 pm. Jim Hightower is the headline speaker.

The night will include:

• WMNF DJs Marcie Finkelstein, host of the Tuesday Morning Show and Phil and Bill

    of *The Sixties Show*

• Live and Silent Auctions • Tapas and Dessert • Full Cash Bar

Once on Ashley Street, go to the first traffic light and turn right on Tyler Street and go a half block to The Center. From the Orlando-Lakeland area, take I-4 West to I-275 South and take the Ashley Street/West Tampa Exit 44 (old 25). From I-75 North or South, take I-4 West to Tampa then to I-275 South. The Ashley Street/West Tampa Exit 44 (old 25) is the second exit. If you are coming via Bayshore Boulevard, go over the Platt Street bridge and turn left on Florida Avenue. Go straight nine blocks, turn left on Tyler Street and drive three and a half blocks to The Center. From Selmon Expressway East-bound, take Kennedy Boulevard and turn right on to Florida Avenue. Turn left on Tyler Street and go three and a half blocks to The Center.
