As one of the founding members of The Beatles, John Lennon together with Paul McCartney formed one of the most successful songwriting partnerships of the 20th century. As performer, writer, or co-writer he is responsible for 27 number one singles. Rolling Stone ranked him the fifth greatest singer of all time. He was posthumously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Twenty-seven bands will be performing approximately 3 songs each from John’s songs with the Beatles, his solo work and his songs performed with other bands and performers. Here John Lennon’s songs performed in all manner of styles from Rock, Folk, Jazz, Blues, Americana, Soul, Psychedelic, Funk and more.

At 5 O’clock WMNF will present what may be his greatest solo album, Imagine, performed in its entirety song by song by The Grecian Urns. WMNF favorites Talk to Mark will close out the night with an extended set and be joined on stage for a finale featuring many of the areas best musicians. Doors open at Noon and the concert begins with a jam-packed open mic for the first hour at 1pm. . Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early as many of the best bands and songs are slated to go on before 6pm.
