WMNF's birthday weekend starts with a special evening with three of our best musical friends.
Paul Thorn is great with his band but his solo concerts are just as special in a different way - more intimate, personal and funny. So before you see him with his band at the Birthday Bash you will have a chance to see him solo to warm up for the big party Saturday night.

Yom Kippur begins this evening. How insensitive scheduling this event on this date. But hardly surprising given 'MNF's stance towards Israel and Jews.
Disappointing

It is disappointing, given WMNF's stated commitment to diversity, that one of the station's biggest events is scheduled during the most-observed Jewish holiday. The holiday is listed on almost every secular calendar, and another date could have easily been picked.

Wouldn't hurt for us Christians to be a little more aware of what our Jewish and Islamic sisters and brothers hold sacred. From Wikipedia: Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day of the year for religious Jews. Its central themes are atonement and repentance. Jews traditionally observe this holy day with a 25-hour period of fasting and intensive prayer, often spending most of the day in synagogue services. Yom Kippur completes the annual period known in Judaism as the High Holy Days.

There is no way that all the people can be made happy all the time. Just take joy in the fact that WMNF has such diversity in thier programming.

Please remove "Dear Everybody But You" from my posting. I was responding to a comment made by the mystery person and this was one of the monikers that he/she used. Since the comment has been deleted my salutation could be misconstrued. Thanks.

about religious people or their beliefs. guess what? everything in life can be debated on it's merits with the exception of "religious beliefs" no matter how ridiculous. stop your whining. you can choose to go see some live music or follow your gobbely gook about the invisible man in the sky. the rest of us don't need to change our schedule based on your irrationality. sorry, this is reality. good luck w/your affliction.
uh ohhh...
