The headliner is Sandy & His Fly Rite Boys. Since forming in 1988, Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys have emergeThe d as one of the world's most respected practitioners of American roots music — western swing, rockabilly, and traditional country — playing it like they invented it. "I think of us as just a rock and roll band — a rock and roll band that's letting the roots show," says bandleader Big Sandy. Whether they're playing the Grand Ole Opry, Late Night With Conan O'Brien, or simply climbing out of a bus after rolling into your town, these guys are bringing us some great old-time rock and roll.
The hot new band is Sarah Borges & The Broken Singles. Borges is a fast-rising rock n' roll songstress from Boston, a talent that Paste Magazine called “the most convincing honky-tonk chops in recent memory.” The onetime honors scholarship recipient is a lifelong devotee of theater and performance, and she channels this experience into her music. The result is a genre-defying style that lies between classic country songwriting and an 80s punk mentality. Audiences have lauded her exuberant, engaging and sometimes raucous live shows which have won fans as well as the attention of both indie and major labels (she just signed a deal with Sugar Hill Records). If that isn't enough, joining them will be Slim Jim Phantom Trio, former Stray Cats drummer!
This year’s Ruckus will feature local favorites: Midnight Bowlers League, Johnny Zoom Cheerleader Squad, Hot Rod Walt & The Psycho Devilles and Slip & The Spinouts.
DJ Paul Mallet will be spinning the tunes between sets.
