I saw these these guys in late June, and I was so blown away that I still think about the show. In an e-mail afterward to Bev (that became the core of a blog post), I said that "Lauris comes across as an emerging major artist: insanely gifted, adventurous in a host of ways, a great synthesizer of influences but clearly heeding a powerful muse a yield a wholly original blast of art...." There's more, including that the rhythm section could remind you of John Paul Jones & Bonzo as much as Sly & Robbie. Not bad. These three guys will perform for much of the Sonic Detour's second hour, and we'll include a brief interview with Lauris.
