The new Hillsborough County Commission was sworn into office today. In addition to 3 new members being inducted into office, Jim Norman was re-elected to being the Commision Chairman.
The Board is the most Republican perhaps ever, with only 1 Democrat now on the 7 member Board.

Voter Action, People For the American Way Foundation, the ACLU of Florida, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation, are holding a press conference today to announce a lawsuit calling for a revote in Sarasota Countyâ€™s portion of Floridaâ€™s 13th Congressional District. Luis Lopez is a City Council member for the city of Zephryhills, and has been working for a mental health agency over the past few years. He says that his experience working with several members of the homeless people in his job compelled him to want to do more for the homeless, to â€˜walk the walkâ€™, as it were.

Ten months after 14-year-old Martin Lee Anderson died in a juvenile boot camp, and no arrests have been made. Today in Tallahassee Andersonâ€™s parents met with the Conference of Black State legislators to push for answers. WMNFâ€™s Roxanne Escobales reports.

Today in Tampa, Governor Jeb Bush said the state legislature will find out this week if a special session will be called to address the Floridaâ€™s insurance crisis. WMNFâ€™s Roxanne Escobales reports.

Mary Mulhern, who lost to Rose Ferlita in the race for Hillsborough County Commission District 1 seat earlier this month, announced today that she will now run for the seat Ferlita is leaving on the Tampa City Council.

Sara previously did work in Palestine and was a member of a National Womenâ€™s Day delegation to Palestine. The Reverend Ted Haggard preached that homosexuality was a sin until November 3rd when the founder and pastor of the 14,000-member New Life Church in Colorado Springs, was fired from his pulpit over a sex scandal involving a gay male prostitute named Mike Jones, from whom Haggard also bought methamphetamines.
