Three days before Hillsborough County schools open their doors to students, the Florida education commissioner visited two elementary schools in the district to applaud their improved performance on the FCAT. THE HUMANURE HANDBOOK: A GUIDE TO COMPOSTING HUMAN MANURE

This edition of the Sustainable Living program featured an interview with Joe Jenkins the author of THE HUMANURE HANDBOOK. Joe was a graduate student when he wrote a graduate thesis on sustainable systems. One of the systems was a toilet which uses no water and could generate useable compost. The thesis became his book and on today's program he discussed the technique he has championed.

Tampa Jewish Federation places ad in Tampa Tribune supporting Israel by Mitch E. Perry

Today the Tampa Jewish Federation showed their support for the people of Israel by purchasing a full page ad in the Tampa Tribune.

The ad, which features a picture of the Israeli flag with the words, “help, give, hope�, begins by saying that the Federation, along with the entire North American Jewish Community, stands with the people of Israel as they fight terrorism and attacks.

This afternoon, a federal judge ruled in favor of Gordon Johnston, a high shool civics teacher who didn’t think it was legal for fans to be subject to pat down searches on their way into Bucs games at Raymond James Staduim in Tampa.

SEWAGE SPILLS GOING UNREPORTED IN FLORIDA-Andrew Stelzer

A new report finds that the public isn’t being properly informed about sewage and wastewater spills in the state of Florida. The clean water action fund did a study in 2005, and found that both public and private facilities were not always properly reporting potentially toxic spills to the public, or to the proper government agencies.
