Today the liberal advocacy group the Campaign For Americaâ€™s Future released a report slamming the Governmentâ€™s response to Hurricane Katrina. The report says a year after the devastating storm ,the Gulf Coast is still suffering from a response that shows how government failed its people.

As Floridians monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Ernesto, Pinellas County started preparing for the worst today. And on the one-year anniversary of the day Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, the Pinellas emergency management director said that no plan exists for the mass evacuation of the peninsula.

A Federal judge today declared a new Florida voter registration law unconstitutional, ruling that its stiff penalties for violations threaten free speech rights and that political parties were improperly exempted.
