Although a St. Petersburg Times poll shows Jim Davis up by 14% over Rod Smith in the Democratic race for Governor, another shows that Smith climbing back a statistical dead heat with the Tampa Congressman.
The poll by Associated Industries shows Congressman Davis at 21%, Rod Smith at 20%, and Still Ã¢â‚¬â€œ a huge majority Ã¢â‚¬â€œ 59%, still undecided with only 3 Ã‚Â½ weeks before the election.

Last week the Hillsborough County Commission gave tentative approval for a massive new transportation project that could alleviate traffic problems in the future, but for critics, it was the wrong project.

Hours after it was announced that 21 individuals in England had been arrested for allegedly plotting to use liquid explosives on passenger flights traveling from the United Kingdom to the United States, in Washington, the Council on American Islamic Relations or CAIR, issued a press release condemning all acts of terrorism.

In Florida, half a million children have no health insurance. And according to a recently released report from the University of Minnesota, that means that out of the Southern states, Florida has the highest proportion of children lacking coverage. About 30 people came together Tuesday night to attend a World CafÃƒÂ© at the Tampa Museum of Art. The event was sponsored by Creative Tampa Bay as part of their Ã¢â‚¬Å“Things Look Different HereÃ¢â‚¬? series of discussions, which they hope will lead to a more exciting community, focused on art, culture, and increased entrepreneurship.

Representatives of a company that has invented a machine that turns air into water that they say will be ideal for municipalities and first responders in the aftermath of a hurricane came by Tampa this morning.

Americans on Monday morning awoke to stunning news: The worldÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s 2nd largest traded oil company Ã¢â‚¬â€œ BP had shut down its Prudhoe Bay oil field in Alaska because of corrosion in of its 3 pipelines. The company says it will replace about 73 percent of 22 miles of transit pipeline for the biggest oilfield in the country , which could take months.
