Bill Becker is the executive director of the Presidential Climate Action Network, based in Colorado. The group advocates 300 policies that can be enacted by whoever is elected president – without congressional -approval within his first 100 days in office.
Becker will be in Tampa this Saturday morning speaking as part of the Earth Summit gathering at the University of Tampa's Falk Theater at 11 a.m.

With women playing a greater role in active-duty military operations, comes an increasing problem of homelessness among women veterans. This morning in Ybor City, a ribbon-cutting ceremony spotlighted a transitional housing program for homeless female veterans.
The Athena program, located in a historic brick building on Columbus Drive, will provide transitional housing to 16 homeless female veterans.
