During the third day of testimony, a friend of Trayvon Martin who was on the phone with him moments before he was fatally shot by George Zimmerman described how the teen complained to her that the neighborhood watch volunteer was watching him as he walked home from a convenience store.

Tuesday the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a key provision of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 that had been used as recently as last year to ensure voting laws don’t discriminate. Florida Governor Rick Scott is poised to execute more people in one term than any of his recent predecessors based on a new law that goes into effect July 1 that speeds up the death penalty process.
