JIM DAVIS DECLARES HIS CANDIDACY FOR GOVERNOR - Mitch Perry

Tampa Democratic Congressman Jim Davis today formally announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Governor in Florida next year.

Davis has represented Tampa and other parts of the Bay Area in Washington since 1996, and was easily re-elected for his 5th term last November. Previously he was in the Florida House for 8 years.

Colorado Governor Bill Owens yesterday renewed his call that University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill be fired, arguing that Churchill doesn't deserve to teach at the university.
