Good Evening All,
On behalf of the Board of Directors I am pleased to announce that Sydney White has been selected as the WMNF Station Manager. The Board began the process to find a new manager at the end of last year and we feel very fortunate to have found someone with Mr. White’s experience and commitment to Public Radio. Mr. White is a strategic thinker with excellent fundraising skills and he is committed to community outreach.
Mr. White comes to WMNF with 30 plus years in public media, including ten years in public television, sixteen years with National Public Radio and three years at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. His professional history includes various positions including Stations Project Manager, Marketing and Stations Relations, both for NPR, Director of Marketing and Development at WHMM-TV, and twelve years producing and hosting programs for community radio station WPFW-FM, in Washington D.C.
Mr. White graduated from the State University of New York with a B.S. in general studies and mathematics. He earned his M.A. in mass communications research and a PhD in telecommunications policy & administration from Howard University in Washington D.C.
Mr. White is expected to join us June 18, 2012.
The Board of Directors will help coordinate a get together at the station to welcome Sydney, as he prefers to be called. Details will soon follow.
Please join the Board of Directors in welcoming Sydney to the WMNF family and to the Tampa area.
