Among those affected by Hurricane Charlie are farmworkers in South Central Florida. The Adult Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker Program is calling out for help, by asking for those who care to donate clothes -especially shorts, shirts and socks - Food, especially formula for children, - baby food - all kinds of packaged food - and mattresses.

Esperanza Gamboa is the Coordinator of the Adult Migrant and Seasonal Employee Farmworker Program…Each day this week she’ll be part of a 2 van convoy going to Arcadia to provide essential supplies (roll tape#1 o.q.We want canned food)

Gamboa says her group is working directly with the Red Cross and the Salvation Army, Who want only NEW Clothes to be offered up for this relief effort. Her group generally would take used clothing - but not right now.

Listeners who want to help bring those items to Gamboa’s office, which is located at Manatee Community College - 56-03 34th Street West in Bradenton. And people can financially help out as well (roll tape#2 o.q. “or checks)
