WOMAN FIRED FROM HER JOB FOR SUPPORTING KERRY GETS HIRED BY KERRY - Mitch Perry
An Alabama woman who was fired for supporting John Kerry, is now working for the Democratic candidate for President.
41 year old Lynne Rene Gobell worked at a company called Enviromate in Moulton, Alabama, which produces cellulose insulation, where she worked as a bagger on a production line. That is, until a few weeks ago...
Ms. Gobell explains (roll tape#1 o.q.ââ¬?couldnââ¬â¢t tell me who to vote forââ¬?) At that juncture, Gobell then went into her office to confront her employer, Philip Geddes. She asked him : Am I fired? He didnââ¬â¢t immediately respond. She then left that office and asked her Plant Manager - (roll tape#2 o.q.ââ¬?and I left the buildingââ¬?)
When asked if she ever consider suing for wrongful termination, Lynne Rene Gobell said that never entered the equation (roll tape#3 o.q.â for anythingâ)
But all has not been lost for Gobell. Upon learning of the firing, the John Kerry campaign has now hired her to work for them in nearby Decatur, in Lawrence County,Alabama, which Gobell says is mostly Democrat
Gobell says her husband was infuriated when he learned she had lost her job, simply because of her political support for the Democratic candidate. But she says heââ¬â¢s thrilled now that sheââ¬â¢s a paid staffer for the Kerry Campaign. But she says she never actually got into an argument with her boss about politics. (roll tape#4 o.q. ââ¬Åand he just went ballisticââ¬?)
Lynne Rene Gobell spoke to WMNF this morning from Jacksonville, where she was accompanying John Kerry on his first full fledged campaign appearance in the Sunshine State in a couple of months.comments powered by Disqus
