PARENTS WILL SUE PINELLAS SCHOOLS OVER DEATH OF DAUGHTER HIT AT SCHOOL BUS STOP-Andrew Stelzer
The parents of Rebecca McKinney, the 16 year old girl who was hit and killed by a pickup truck on McMullen-Booth Road in Clearwater after getting off a school bus, have announced that they intend to sue the Pinellas school district twice; once for Rebecca's death and a second time for the trauma her 17-year-old sister, Mary, suffered while watching the accident. The incident, which took place on October 8th, led to the discovery that children had been crossing four or more lanes at nearly 300 bus stops, all in violation of district policy, and McKinneyââ¬â¢s parents contend teat the school district ignored their repeated requests to have her school bus stop moved.
WMNF asked Pinellas School Board member Linda Lerner about the pending lawsuit.
That was Pinellas School board member Linda Lerner. Pinellas Schools superintendent Clayton Wilcox says he intends to release the details of an investigation of the incident, and a plan for improvements next week.comments powered by Disqus
