MAYOR SAYS ART MUSEUM MAY NOT HAPPEN-Andrew Stelzer

02/01/05

Next Thursday, the Tampa city council is scheduled to decide whether to approve plans for the new Tampa Art Museum. The plan has become more and more financially unstable over the past year, with the price of construction rising, and the business community coming up short on the amount of money they have to raise under an agreement with the city. In a WMNF exclusive, This afternoon, WMNF spoke to Tampa may Pam Iorio about the future of the new art museum—Iorio told us she doesn’t believe enough money will be found by February 10th, and the new museum will likely not be built at all.
