Ginger Perlman, the Offshore Drilling Issue Chair of the Florida Chapter of the Sierra Club says that the recently announced deal by the Bush administration to buy up drilling rights will not result in complete protection of the eastern Gulf or the preserve. She warned that unless there is a ban on further lease sales, Florida's coastal environment remains in danger from oil and gas exploration.
