PINELLAS SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT PROPOSES CUTTING BUDGET BY 22 MILLION DOLLARS

03/01/06

How these cuts will effect education and school services was the topic during this segment with our guests Michelle Dennard, president of the Pinellas Classroom Teachers Association, Bill Angelus- a bus driver in the system and Michael Wilson a machinist employed by the district. Both Bill and Michael are members of the Service Employees International Union. Our guests described how the proposed cuts would hurt school maintenance, drive up costs for spare parts, impact regular school bus safety inspections, and result in the loss of jobs.
