PROTESTORS SAY SECRET SERVICE POINTED GUN AT THEM-Andrew Stelzer05/15/06
Last week, when President bush was in Sun City center, speaking about the Medicaid part D prescription drug plan, a few dozen protestors were present at the entrance to the Kings Point gated community at which Bush spoke. They held signs for various causes, but mostly regarding the Part D plan, which has been filled with problems since its launch.
Since then, several of the protestors have created astir on the internet with claims that when the presidents motorcade passed by them, a man, who appeared to be secret service, pointed his semi automatic weapon at the protestors from out of the window on a black SUV.
The secret Service would not go on tape, but a spokesman told WMNF that at no time were weapons pointed at the general public last week in Florida. WMNF spoke to one of those citizens who say they felt threatened; Barbara Nicholson a retired social worker who lives in the Kings Point gated community where Bush came to speak.
That was Barbara Nicholson a retired social worker who lives in the Kings Point gated community where president Bush spoke last week. Again, the secret service denies that any weapons were pointed at the general public.
