Ray McGovern was a CIA analyst from 1964 to 1990; in that capacity he took part in President Reagan’s daily briefing from 1981 to 1985. In this interview with WMNF, McGovern discussed the unusual events leading up the Iraq war. These include Vice President Cheney’s unprecedented visit to CIA headquarters to discuss intelligence about Iraq’s supposed weapons of mass destruction. McGovern says such a visit is extremely rare and appeared to be a form of intimidation. He also said that top officials in the White House knew that false statements were included in the President’s State Of The Union Address.
