Ric Burns on Andy Warhol Part II by Mitch E. Perry

Tonight on the local PBS affiliate, WEDU, the 2nd 2 hours of documentary filmmaker Ric Burns work on pop artist Andy Warhol continues.

Warhol died in 1987 at the age of 59 in a New York City hospital, following complications from gall bladder surgery.

In his career, Warhol worked as an artist, an avante-garde filmmaker, a writer and a social figure in New York City. Speaking with filmmaker Ric Burns earlier this week, we commented that what powerfully comes across in the documentary is Warhol’s towering ambitions (roll tape#1 o.q.�from the art he created�)
