The Patel Center for Global Solutions at USF is co-hosting with Florida Atlantic University a TWO-DAY Climate Change conference focusing on Florida issues. The conference starts tomorrow at the Renaissance Hotel in International Plaza in Tampa.

Joining us now is Dr. Tom Chrisman, Patel Center Professor of Environment, and one of the organizers of the conference. He says the purpose of the conference is three-fold:

  1. Review our current knowledge of the impacts of climate change on Florida.
  2. Discuss priorities in the need for action now to reduce and mitigate impacts.
  3. Provide recommendations to the Century Commission and decision makers in the State on how best to integrate the dynamic of climate change in the environment, economy and social fabric of the State.
