Today a group of cyclists reached their midway point in riding throughout Florida, all to help raise money for people with disabilities.
The group is called Gear Up Florida. Their goal is to reach 13 cities in Florida in 14 days- and it’s all for a good cause – raising money for people with disabilities.
Patrick Allen is from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
He’s a member of the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity making the 800 mile trek

Gear up Florida was created by the national non-profit group Push America. That organization’s mandate is to enhance the lives of people with disabilities through educational programs, awareness raising events, and donations of recreational environments.

The cyclists themselves had to raise between $1800 to $2,000 before they could become part of Gear up Florida 2007. On Thursday, they met up with people with disabilities at an Easter Seals Office in Tampa. On Friday night, there’ll participate in a Dinner and Dance in Tampa.
