WILL PRESIDENT BUSH VETO MONEY FOR HUMAN NEEDS IN NEXT YEAR'S FEDERAL BUDGET?
Our guests, Chrystal Hutchison of the Florida Consumer Action Network http://www.fcan.org) and Mike McCleary of Clean Water Action (http://www.cleanwateraction.org) discussed their concern that President Bush might veto the proposed federal budget. Their concern was that the proposed budget passed by Congress contains money for human needs and environmental protection. But the budget also creates a larger federal deficit because it continues the tax breaks for upper-income Americans and continued high-levels of funding for the war. They fear the president will take sides againast the human needs in the budget and veto it.
