Interview with the book's author, Jeffrey M. Smith. IT’S NOT WIDELY KNOWN - BUT MUCH OF THE FOOD WE BUY IN GROCERY STORES HERE IN THE U.S. IS GENETICALLY MODIFIED. IN MANY CASES GENES FROM ONE SPECIES ARE TRANSFERRED INTO A TOTALLY DIFFERENT SPECIES. EUROPE HAS VERY RESTRICTIVE POLICIES ON GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS. OUR GUEST JEFFREY SMITH HAS WRITTEN A NEW BOOK CALLED SEEDS OF DECEPTION. IN IT HE CLAIMS THAT GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS ARE UNSAFE. HE SAYS THE GIANT CORPORATIONS WHO ARE PUSHING GMO FOOD HAVE TRIED TO HIDE THE DANGERS OF GENETICALLY ENGINEERED FOODS. HE ALSO CHARGES THAT WHISTLE BLOWERS WERE HARASSED, EVIDENCE WAS STOLEN, AND RESEARCH DATA WAS OMITTED OR DISTORTED.
