WMNF Drive-Time News Tuesday | Listen to this entire show:

Yesterday a South Florida Mayor challenged the property tax overhaul passed by the Legislature, asking the state Supreme Court to pull the Constitutional Amendment off next January’s ballot.

Eric Hersh is the Mayor of Weston, in Broward county. He becomes the first official from a municipal government in Florida to contest the property tax reform package approved by the legislature last month. And because of that, he’s being targeted – in some cases, for a possible re-call for taking what some say is an unpopular stance.

WMNF spoke with Mayor Hersh this morning . We began by asking him what does he find unconstitutional in what the legislature has put up for a vote next year? (roll tape#1 o.q.”that have nothing to do with us”)

That’s Eric Hersh, the Democratic Mayor of Weston, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale.
