A new report on America’s dirtiest Power Plants lists 2 in the Sunshine State as being among the worst in the country.

The nonprofit Environmental Integrity Project breaks down the 50 worst plants in the country in terms of carbon dioxide emissions, and sulfer dioxide emissions.

And the Tampa Bay Area has the dubious honor of having one of only 9 power plants in the country that made both lists. That’s Tampa Electric’s Big Bend facility in Southeastern Hillsborough County.

In terms of polluting plants by tons of carbon dioxide, Progress Energy’s Crystal river Plant ranks 21st in the country.
