WMNF Evening News Tuesday Listen to this entire show:
Electricity plays a vital part in everyone’s life. But in the U.S., and especially here in Florida, most people never pay attention until a storm knocks out local power. In the summertime, that means no air conditioning, which means misery.
But electricity industry expert Jason Makansi says Americans – who are only 3 percent of the world’s population but consumer 25 percent of the world’s electricity - should begin to start paying attention.
WMNF interviewed Makansi today in the first of a two-part interview about his new book, “Lights Out: The Electricity Crises, the Global Economy, and What it Means to You.”
We’ll hear more from him later this week.
