The activist group is seeking to air a 30 second commercial on CBS this Sunday during the Superbowl. The ad is critical of the current federal deficit. But CBS is refusing to air the ad, saying it never accepts issue-oriented ads. Our guest, Matt Bivens, is a columnist for the Nation Magazine. Matt says that CBS is being hypocritical because it does carry controversial ads- but only if they are supplied by corporations or the White House. Bivens points out that CBS is trying to curry favor with the White House, as it seeks to expand the number of broadcast stations one corporation can own.
