Radioactivity: Live Call-In (Thursday) | Listen to this entire show:
This afternoon at 6:30 at the John Germany Library in downtown Tampa the Florida Consumer Action Network and Appalachian Voices will present a free slide show on the affects of mountaintop removal coal mining in Appalachia. The process involves blowing off the tops of mountains in four Appalachain states and removing the coal that is exposed. The blasts cause damage and injuries not to mention the negative impact on streams and water quality.
Our guests were Rully Urias a former coal miner from Pikeville Kentucky, Adam Wells with Appalachian Voices and Bill Newton of the Florida Consumer Action Network.
