In Miami, the Coalition of Immokalee Workers have been marching much of the day toward the corporate headquarters of Burger King.
The farmworkers group is holding the march to urge the fast-food giant to require tomato farmers provide higher wages and better working conditions for the migrant workers who pick the tomatoes.
Former WMNF reporter Andrew Stelzer is covering the event. We spoke to him at about 4 p.m. today.
The Coalition of Immokalee Workers will also be holding a Fair Food and Justice Conference tomorrow in Miami, the public is invited to attend. Andrew will be providing more coverage on this story on Monday’s WMNF Evening News.
