Environmentalists eager to hear Guiliani

The crowd at Rudy Guiliani’s speech Saturday morning at the Tampa Convention Center was noticeably small, and not overly enthusiastic.

Not all of those in attendance were there to cheer on the presidential candidate, some came to press Guiliani on environment issues.

St Petersburg citizen Tim Yazel is with One Sky Campaign, a program sponsored by the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy. One of the goals of the program is to push Congress to cut carbon emissions 80 percent by 2050. One way to achieve that would be to implement a carbon tax, as its called, on polluters. Such a system is being used in Europe.
