HCDEC Chair, Vice Chair resign
According to an email circulated last night among Hillsborough County Democratic Executive Committee (HCDEC) members, the Chair and Vice Chair of the HCDEC have resigned. Chair Michael Suarez and Vice Chair Deborah Cope have resigned within the last week, according to the email from Rose Marie Varas, who was Secretary, but is now the acting chair of the HCDEC. WMNF spoke with Varas this afternoon and she confirmed that Suarez and Cope had resigned. She declined to be interviewed until after an HCDEC emergency meeting with the executive board scheduled for January second.
