Board of Governors opposes ban on research in Cuba
In 2006, the Florida Legislature passed a law banning colleges and universities in the state from spending money to send professors to Cuba and other countries that are called state sponsors of terrorism. But the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Florida filed a lawsuit on behalf of university professors.
Last month the governing body of the stateâs university system, the Board of Governors, filed a brief supporting the ACLUâs position. This afternoon, WMNFâs SeÃ¡n Kinane spoke with Howard Simon, the executive director of the ACLU of Florida.
