Residents fight phosphate mine expansion

Norma Killibrew and Dan Hardy live in southeast Hillsborough where it meets Manatee, Hardee and Polk counties. That’s also the area where one of the largest phosphate mines in the region is located. The Mosaic Co., which owns the mine, is asking that it be expanded. And Norma and Dan are part of a neighborhood group that’s trying to fight it.
