Lieberman insists he had demanded accountability in Ohio listen08/08/08 Mitch E. Perry
WMNF Drive-Time News Friday | Listen to this entire show:
Joe Lieberman, the 2000 vice presidential nominee for the Democratic Party, was in Florida for two days this week stumping for Republican John McCain for president.
The Independent Connecticut senator appeared at a fundraiser in Tampa yesterday. During our interview, WMNF challenged Lieberman on Iraq. We quoted a former State Department official named Suzanne Nossel, who now works for the think tank, Security and Peace Initiative. She said Lieberman’s initial and continuing support for the Invasion of Iraq makes him somewhat of a mainstream Democratt, but his problem is “his unwillingness to acknowledge the severity of what's happened in Iraq, and to demand accountability for it."
Not surprisingly, Lieberman disagrees with that assessment.
