Forum on threat of offshore oil drilling in Florida

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist and presumptive Republican Presidential nominee John McCain are in favor of reversing decades of precedent to allow oil drilling off the coast of Florida.

Tomorrow a coalition of environmental groups will hold a forum in Clearwater to educate residents about the threat of offshore oil drilling. Today WMNF spoke with Joe Murphy, Florida coordinator for the Gulf Restoration Network.

The forum tomorrow night about the threat of oil drilling off the coast of Florida runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

It is simply throwing good money after bad. The state & region would be better off investing in solar farms. How about putting panels on each house and sell back to the utility - oops - can't do that - the middle class might benefit.
