WMNF Drive-Time News Tuesday | Listen to this entire show:
Nancy Riley was the 2007 president of the Florida Association of Realtors, and currently works with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in Pinellas County.
Riley is also a Republican State Committeewoman, and served on the Taxation and Budget Reform Commission in Tallahassee earlier this year.
WMNF asked Riley, who supports the bill, if that disappointed her.
In the Tampa Bay area, only Republican Adam Putnam voted for the bailout legislation yesterday on Capitol Hill.
Tampa area Congresswoman Kathy Castor was the only Democrat in Florida who voted against the bill. Castor said the plan did not provide sufficient help to middle-class families in the housing squeeze or provide enough taxpayer protections.
Other Florida Democrats expressed their dissatisfaction with the bill, but voted for it anyway. South Florida Rep. Ron Klein said that inaction was unacceptable.
WMNF attempted to speak with Congresswoman Castor today but we were unable to reach her.
