Through August of this year, more than 530,000 new voters have registered in Florida, according to the Secretary of State’s website.
But when new voters in Hillsborough County receive their voter information card in the mail, important information that used to be included is now missing. The cards do not include the address of the voter’s polling precinct.
Democrat Phyllis Busansky is running for Hillsborough Supervisor of Elections against incumbent Republican Buddy Johnson. Before Joe Biden’s rally at the USF SunDome on Wednesday, Busansky discussed what she thinks about the card’s redesign.
“I think it’s awful. I think voter suppression is what it’s all about. I think confusion leads to voter suppression and I think Buddy Johnson is a master at it. … It’s the move of a desperate, unprincipled person, frankly.â€
