Alex Sink campaigns for Obama's small business tax plans listen10/17/08 Mitch E. Perry
WMNF Drive-Time News Friday | Listen to this entire show:
John McCain was in Miami today, where he attacked Barack Obama on taxes.
The GOP is trying to seize on Obama’s remark to “Joe the plumber,†Joseph Wurzelbacher from Holland, Ohio, when Obama said "he wants to spread the wealth around."
McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt told the New York Times today that that was a mistake by Obama, as did Newt Gingrich on Good Morning America today.
In reality, based on what his salary is, Wurzelbacher would get a tax cut, not a raise from Obama’s plan. But Democrats have traditionally had trouble in national elections for being labeled as tax and spend liberals.
WMNF asked Florida’s Chief Financial Officer and Obama supporter Alex Sink today if she feared those charges could hurt Obama in Florida. We’ll hear more from her next week on Florida’s challenging economic times.
