Eddie Adams Jr. tries to unseat Castor listen10/28/08 Mitch E. Perry
WMNF Drive-Time News Tuesday | Listen to this entire show:
Tampa Bay area Congressional Democrat Kathy Castor is running for re-election next week, and her opponent is Eddie Adams Jr., the same Republican she beat in 2006.
Florida’s 11th Congressional District consists of most of the city of Tampa and its suburbs, and the shoreline of south eastern Hillsborough County. It also includes South St. Petersburg and neighborhoods in and around Bradenton.
In an interview with WMNF Monday morning, Adams tied Castor in with the current Congress, which has received record low popularity rankings this year.
Referencing a portion of the interview regarding Castor and the cigar tax – as reported by the St. Petersburg Times - Castor did not vote directly on the cigar tax, but did vote to override President Bush’s veto of the SCHIP bill that would have been paid in part by the cigar tax.
The override failed.
